Lawns

I can't stand lawns. Sometimes it just blows my mind the perspective that some people take on nature. Take a look at this advertisement that arrived in our mail recently. Here we see a child who is apparently upset that there are dandelions in his lawn.

I really never truly understood what drives people to despise wonderful plants like the dandelion. Futhermore, I doubt that you will ever find a kid that is upset about "weeds". To them a lawn is a lawn as long as it isn't full of sharp thistles to poke at bare feet. Lets also take a look at the other side of this ad.

This is where I had to chuckle. The intended clever remark I guess is that the child is "wishing" that she has a better lawn by blowing on a dandelion seed head. I think that the marketers missed the irony there. Either way, I can't stand lawns.
