We have a couple of announcements to make regarding future programs. The first one is that Willamalane Parks will be hosting a "Stone-Age Day" on April 18th from 11 am to 3 pm. Here is the official description:
Calling All Cave Dwellers!
Gather around the fire outside the cave (barn) and toss spears with your atlatl at our giant mammoth. Learn what life was like for the Ice Age people 12,000 years ago when mammoth, bison, camel and giant sloth roamed the Willamette Valley. Sample some bison on a stick and try your hand at making a stone tool.
Admission: A $3 per person donation will help support educational programs at Dorris Ranch. Ages: All ages Location: Dorris Ranch barn, South Second and Dorris streets This is going to be an awesome and family friendly event and it supports the great educational programs that they do at Dorris Ranch so check it out.
A wonderfully nutritious spring edible
Secondly, we are excited to announce that ReWild Eugene will be going "full-time" in the end of summer! By full-time we mean that we will have tons of workshops and classes ranging from kids, teens, and adult programs, week night gathers, and more. As a sneak peek we are currently working on plans for a skin-on-frame boat making class, we are planning to have a regular series of plant classes similar to the Nettle class we just offered, we are going to be offering more adult classes on survival, primitive skills and bushcraft, we are looking at the feasibility of offering tree climbing classes and we are still looking for more ideas.
We need your help! If you have any classes or workshops you are interested in please let us know. Also, do you have skills that you would like to share? Tell us about it and we will help you get a class going.
Happy Spring!

Are those images of chickweed and sea green beans?
Yes on the chickweed. Guess again about the other one. It is a terrestrial plant that grows in wet areas.
