Make Your Own Basket From Local Materials

Join ReWild Eugene and local artist Sheila Tasker
to learn the art of twining baskets. Here is a wonderful opportunity to combine community service (invasive species control) and learning a basic basket making technique. We will identify and remove ivy and weave a rustic basket from this readily available material. Ivy is a strong vine that can be used as soon as it is gathered with very little shrinkage. It can also be coiled and stored, then re-soaked when you are ready to make it into a basket. Come help the environment and and learn a great new skill. Bring gloves, pruners or heavy scissors, an awl or ice pick or knitting needle etc., water.
