Welcome! and thank you for visiting Eugene Traditional Skills. Our mission for this site is to be the local resource for all things related to native and traditional skills. We will be posting articles on projects that we are working on as well as keeping you updated on local events that are related to traditional skills. The first event that we would like to announce is entitled "Harvesting the Suburban Landscape".

This Saturday May 24th we will be leading a useful plant walk in Downtown Eugene. We will be covering five common, easy to ID plants that can be used either as food, medicine, or in other ways. After the walk we will be preparing a small sample of wild food. Right now I am leaning toward dandelion fritters, good stuff! Our workshop will start at the Saturday Market. The Blooming Changes booth is behind the main stage to the east and near the concrete steps. We will be out there doing friction fire demos for fun so we should be easy to locate. We will plan on getting started around 9:30 or 10:00 so that people will have a chance to show up. This event is free of charge and I would really love to see you all out there.
